A comedy sitcom portraying a black American family. It shows the life of the Black Americans living the US. It is diverse an attempts to shed more light on as many cultures as possible. Through the eyes of their children Zoey, Junior, Diane and Jack, the viewers learned what it means to be black or “almost black”, the trials, challenges and obstacles that comes with having a darker skin in the midst of White people as well as having a lightened dark skin in the midst of Black people.
The series received mainly positive reviews as it was denoted as “educative and insightful” Zoey the millennial daughter always on her phone, Junior, the teen always in the urge to please his father though he is smart and is very emotional. Diane, the smart one in the family with her twin brother Jack.
Dre and Rainbow, the father and the mother in this series tries their best to provide for their children at the same time ensuring they do not let it affect them emotional and affect the way they treat other people. They are very protective of their children as it was shown in many scenarios within the series.
This is good series for all ages, as everyone can learn something new, about history and how to treat each other as human beings
