Movie Review: RATTLE SNAKE: THE AHANNA STORY (3 mins read)
The movie is a sequel to the 1995 movie Ahanna by Amaka Igwe. Ahanna (played by Stan Nze) lost his father at a young age and this led to a series of events that shaped his life and his choices. At the death of his dad, his mum had to leave to the city with his sister leaving him behind with his grandmother. After his University Education, he was frustrated and moved to the city where he discovered that his mum married his uncle and that his sister was actually his stepsister.
He united with his cousins and together they formed a group called "The Armadas" with three additional members. A group whose job was to pull money heists to make cool cash.
The Ahanna Story shows that in life, we make choices and must face the consequences of those choices. It's a story of brotherhood, friendship, trust, choice and love.
It is a good movie but not without loopholes in the storyline. For instance, Ahanna didn't find out that his mum married his uncle until he came to the city. This is quite unexpected considering this computer age where information flies within seconds and the scene where he turned on the light bulb in his late father's dilapidated bread factory and the light came on.
That is quite unbelievable considering the years the factory stopped functioning and the fact that Nigeria doesn't have effective electricity supply.
